Border Asset Management (BAM)
is a genuinely independent firm of investment managers based
in Kirkby Lonsdale on the borders of Cumbria, Lancashire and North Yorkshire and
Harrogate in North Yorkshire. We focus exclusively on providing portfolio management to private clients and their families, trusts, charities and pension funds. We have been doing this since 1989 and now manage portfolios for investors
worldwide, as well as locally.
The BAM Distinction
is a rare degree of continuity in a rapidly changing industry, an
unusually low client to manager ratio, and a high standard of service to
clients resident in the UK, expatriate or domiciled abroad.
Private Client Services
are supervised by a personal BAM Investment Manager backed up by a small
team of experienced investment professionals. Banking services and
investment administration are offered through a long term association
with
Adam & Company.

Professional Advisers - Solicitors, Accountants and IFAs - have varying mandates from their different clients. We work closely with a client's other professional advisers to tailor a genuinely bespoke service.
Portfolio Management
is normally on a fully discretionary basis. Clarification of a client's investment objectives, preferences, attitude to risk and time horizons will be considered and discussed at an initial meeting. Of course, priorities may change and close contact will be maintained, both formally through regular reporting and informally, to ensure that portfolios always take account of personal circumstances. Continuity of manager is considered a high priority and a formal meeting at least once a year is encouraged.
Investment Administration is a vital and integral part of portfolio management. BAM
introduces the custodian and cash management services of
Adam & Company, a wholly owned private banking subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland. This provides BAM's clients not only with a private banking service but also the security and umbrella of the RBS's
clearing bank status. Investments are administered and held on clients' behalf
by Adam & Company (Nominees) Limited. Portfolios can be administered offshore in
Guernsey if appropriate. |
