Investment Process
As an independent firm, we have the advantage of access to the widest range of market information and third party market research and analysis. We draw on the research of leading investment banks with whom we have strong relationships, such as Cazenove, Oriel and Collins Stewart. We also buy research from independent macro-economic research houses including Capital Economics and Lombard Street Research.
Our entire team is involved in the investment process and in contributing to the investment strategy. Our Investment Committee analyses the different sources of third party research and formulates the overarching investment strategy. This strategy is then discussed in detail with our team of fund managers at regular investment meetings, before being implemented by each manager according to the requirements of their individual clients.
One underpinning principle of Border's investment strategy is our belief in the use of investment trusts and other collective funds. In combination with effective asset allocation, such collective funds allow private investors to harness specialist expertise and achieve a spread of risk in a cost effective manner. We have built up long-standing connections with leading fund managers and specialist analysts enabling us to identify the best funds in each investment sector.
At Border, meeting each individual client's particular requirements is the priority of every fund manager.
